Troy Pappas is the founder and owner of Safe House Property Inspections, a comprehensive home inspection company serving the Hampton Roads area since 2008. What began as a solo venture during one of the most challenging periods in real estate history has grown into a thriving network that went from 12 inspections in his first year to thousands performed annually.
With over seventeen years in the home inspection industry, Troy has built his reputation on integrity, expertise, and client-focused service. His approach is straightforward: provide clients with the information they truly need, not just what can be sold to them. That philosophy, inspired by an early lesson about the value of honest service, has become the cornerstone of every business he operates.
Troy holds over 40 specialized certifications from the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI) — more than 1,400 credit hours covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, structural systems, septic, pools and spas, mold, energy audits, and wind mitigation.

It also builds careers. Safe House now employs multiple inspectors along with team members across the pool and pest control divisions, with a pipeline that lets employees grow from entry-level roles into advanced inspection positions.

A United States Marine Corps veteran, Troy settled in Hampton Roads following his father's Navy career. He is the father of three young adults — Hailey, Chase, and Jack — who are pursuing their own dreams.
When he isn't working, Troy can often be found on the golf course, a tradition he started with his sons during their high school years, and one he keeps as a way to maintain balance and connection.
